The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Vorkady Unit celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a grand event on February 16, 2025, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Vorkady. The celebration marked 50 years of dedicated service, faith, and community building.

The day commenced with a Golden Jubilee Thanksgiving Holy Mass at 7:30 AM, presided over by Rev. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. This sacred gathering was a moment of gratitude and reflection on the journey of ICYM Vorkady.

The Stage Programme in the evening was presided over by Rev. Fr Basil Vas, Parish Priest and Director of ICYM Vorkady, with Shilpa Dyavaiah IPS, District Police Chief, Kasaragod, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was further honored by the presence of esteemed guests, including clergy members, educators, and youth leaders.

Following the formal stage program, the audience was treated to an entertaining Comedy Circus performance, featuring renowned Kannada television artists from popular shows like Comedy Kiladigalu and Comedy Khiladigalu Championship. This segment added a lively and festive atmosphere to the celebration.

The event was successfully organized by the Executive Committee and Members of ICYM Vorkady, with key leadership roles held by Rev. Fr Basil Vas (Director), Rev. Fr Santhosh D Souza (Asst. Director), Sr Severine D Cunha (Animator), Ms. Diana Wilma Cutinha (President), and Ms. Sonal Velgas (Secretary).

The Golden Jubilee celebration was a momentous occasion that showcased the unity, spirit, and commitment of ICYM Vorkady to the community. The event left a lasting impact on attendees, inspiring the youth to continue their journey of faith and service.
