On February 4th, at 5 pm, a vibrant Hore Kanike or offertory procession took place, adding a touch of grace to the feast of Velankanni. The procession was a beautiful display of community spirit, with all 13 wards contributing gifts of rice, vegetables, spices, and fruits.
The Mudipu Shrine rector, Fr. Assisi Rebello, joined by Fr. Santhosh and the parish pastoral council office bearers, led the way with a tempo load of offerings. Fr. Basil Vas, the parish priest, along with the vice president Rajesh and all the gurkars, gratefully accepted the gifts. Even non-Christians enthusiastically brought a tempo load of contributions.
The procession, lasting an hour, featured the lively sounds of a Nasik band and uplifting hymns. It commenced from St. Mary's CBSE school gate, creating a joyful spectacle that was truly worth witnessing and participating in. The event not only marked a moment of celebration but also highlighted the unity and generosity within the community.
